Rebranding of Totachi Gear Oil Products

TOTACHI INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD., introduced the rebranding of its gear oil products during the fourth quarter of 2016. This process is expected to be completed by mid 2017.
Recently, more OEMs are using new synthetic materials for production of transmissions, as seen at ZF which actively uses carbon when manufacturing synchronizers, creating new challenges for lubricant manufacturers. On one hand, carbon materials minimize the weight of transmissions which result to an increase in efficiency during vehicle operation. However, this change imposed stringent requirements for gear oils – gear oils require lower viscosity in order to circulate faster to provide minimum loss during operation.
High quality lubricant products are generally manufactured using hydrocracking or synthetic base stocks are able to provide a longer period of effective protection against wear while operating in varied temperatures in highly loaded applications. Besides, it is required for high quality lubricants to be compatible with the seals used in the machine/engine.
In order to fully satisfy the needs and requirements of OEMs, Totachi has revised its lubricant formulations and introduce rebranding of its gear oil products. This exercise enables consumers to make a better selection in accordance with the new requirements of OEMs.
